Why you should Delete your LinkedIn Account?
When most people think of social media, the first platforms that come to mind are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Some people thought of LinkedIn instead of bringing friends and families together, which is considered a professional site, connecting organizations and others in similar industries.
Many believe that, because the site is used for work-related purposes, it is safe and hurts user privacy like many other social platforms. However, the platform is really one of the worst for privacy. Exactly why you should delete your LinkedIn account:
It promotes oversharing
LinkedIn has a standard of transparency that many other forms of social media do not have. Most users create incredibly detailed profiles about their lives, including hometown, work history, and contact information to impress potential employers or customers.
Although this information sharing is mandatory, it is expected that the profile is considered trustworthy. Users who are skeptical, consistent with the idea of transparency, appear suspicious to others. Instead of giving too much information, or having a questionable profile with enough details, you should delete your LinkedIn profile altogether.
Remove your LinkedIn profile before business mistakes become public.
We all like to think that the companies we work for are true. However, it always claimed the case. If you list yourself as an employee of a company that had participated in illegal or unethical activities, future employers may question your involvement and may not trust you enough to trust them. By deleting your LinkedIn profile, you can avoid this problem.
Company prone to data breaks
Data breaches occur in the news at least once a month, if not more. These security attacks can have serious consequences for the customers of the organizations attacked. In the past, LinkedIn has been the victim of such violations on more than one occasion.
While past violations need to be considered, there will be another successful attack in the future, it is always best to do this with caution and to get rid of the accounts you may be afraid of.
The organization has a history of data misuse
In the past, LinkedIn has been sued by users for practices that violate privacy. In 2013, a lawsuit claimed that the company sent barrages of emails on behalf of users continuing new connections. These emails reminded potential connections to accept the invitees and.
He also offended the recipients, embarrassed those whose names were attached to the messages, and did not consent. LinkedIn paid heavy fines and attacked its reputation.
While this issue has been solved, it serves as a reminder that many large companies take liberties with user privacy and that the best way to stay safe is not to treat those groups at all.
